Ron’s Rising Stars Is Not Your Typical Youth Football Camp

Ron’s Rising Stars Youth Football Camp (RRS) is a non-contact camp designed for young athletes, elementary through high school, ages 6 to 18. From the experienced football player to those just starting out, our goal is to teach young players the fundamentals and techniques necessary for success at all levels of play. Campers are placed in groups based upon age, size, and skill level. Our detailed Individual instruction and comprehensive drills will have players confident, focused and better prepared when they take the field next season. This will put your athlete a step ahead their competition. RRS camps offer guaranteed improvement.

At RRS, we utilize our coaches’ diverse backgrounds and one-on-one experiences with other athletes to develop and train our young players. Our staff is composed of former professional athletes from the NFL, NFL Europe, and NCAA Division I and II. For more about the RRS staff, please go to out Meet the Coaches section for stats and bios.

Campers will benefit from our hands-on training style as we work with them on their offensive and defensive positions. Campers will also participate in drills, team competitions, and scrimmages, so they are guaranteed a chance to apply the skills they’ve learned on the field. Our staff and coaches work tirelessly to make this experience one that campers will never forget.

Another element of our camp that makes RRS different is that we know there is more to life than football. Our camp includes a series of lectures and Q&A sessions with coaches and special guests geared toward developing the “whole” player by discussing priceless life lessons that can be used both on and off the field.

RRS’s 2012 camp will be held from July 8-12th, 2013 in Southampton Township Parks NEW Football field at Cleversburg in Shippensburg, Pa.

RRS Training & Demonstrations

RRS Youth Football Camp utilizes fundamentals, techniques and drills that Ron learned throughout college and in the NFL. Techniques and fundamentals are taught for every offensive and defensive position. Players will receive individual one-on-one coaching, also coaching in small groups to provide the best instruction available. Our coaches aren’t afraid to get down and dirty, they will personally demonstrate each drill themselves and then follow up with a lecture to educate campers on how to improve their own skills.

For the past 12 years, Ron has passed this knowledge on to athletes of all ages — starting in 1998 by coaching football camps across Pennsylvania and as a sports specific trainer with Athlete’s Advantage. At Athlete’s Advantage, Ron worked with middle school, high school, NCAA, NFL, NFL Europe, Arena and CFL players from across the Philadelphia Metro Region and the state to help increase their levels of play.

RRS Speed & Agility Drills

Ron has also worked with athletes to help improve their speed, power and explosiveness, so they could stand out when performing their combine drills and tests in front of coaches, scouts and recruiters. During camp our main focus is on techniques and fundamentals, campers will also participate in agility and speed drills to help players improve their movements and speed on the field, and to help put them a step above their competition for the upcoming season.

Each day, speed and agility drills are included in the schedule to teach our campers the proper techniques of running with and without the football. We use these drills to develop the campers’ speed, endurance, strength, balance and agility, as well as showing them how to perform at there best while minimizing their chances of injury. Our campers are prepared for the highest levels of competition.

RRS Scrimmage Groups & Competitions

Campers are broken down into groups by age, size and skill level, and they will practice in teams, small groups and in one-on-one drills. Our campers will be taught both offensive and defensive positions, and will have a chance each morning before lunch and each afternoon before going home, to work on lessons and techniques taught to them in all sessions throughout the day. Understanding all the positions on the field is key and we encourage kids to ask questions.

Chalk Talk: RRS Daily Lecture Series

As a speech communications graduate of Shippensburg University, Ron decided early on that he would focus on public speaking after his NFL career. Since 2003, Ron has traveled around the Tri-State area speaking to people of all ages to motivate and inspire them to be the best that they can be. In his message he speaks about how anything is possible, and that you can reach and achieve all of your dreams when you set your mind to it and believe it in your heart.

Each day before lunch and at the end of camp, there will be lectures by Ron and other guests. They’ll be speaking to campers about life lessons that can be used both on and off the field. Campers will be encouraged to interact and ask questions during these sessions.
